Practical Techniques and Methods for Raising Rabbits
First, select robust, disease-free female rabbits with good estrus condition and normal organs as breeding rabbits; then mate the same pair of male and female rabbits repeatedly two or more times to improve the conception and kindling rate of the female rabbits; the rabbit house environment must be kept relatively dry, without water accumulation, with sufficient light and strong ventilation; different nutrients should be provided at different stages; pay attention to controlling density and doing a good job of group management.
1. Selection of Breeding Rabbits
The first step in raising rabbits is certainly to choose a good rabbit breed. First, we need to select robust, disease-free female rabbits with good estrus condition and normal organs as breeding rabbits. The requirements for selecting male rabbits are similar to those for female rabbits. However, we should also choose breeds suitable for raising according to the local weather and demand. After selecting the breeding rabbits, do a good job of mating. First, mate the same pair of male and female rabbits repeatedly two or more times, or mate the female rabbit with different male rabbits. To improve the conception and kindling rate of the female rabbits, if there is no estrus, then induce estrus to promote the secretion of sex hormones in the female rabbits.
2. Environment Selection
The environment of the rabbit house also has a very big relationship with the growth of rabbits. The rabbit house environment must be kept relatively dry, without water accumulation, with sufficient light and strong ventilation. Only in this way can the healthy growth of rabbits be ensured. Set up nurseries for young rabbits, mating houses, pregnant rabbit houses, etc., to provide different environments for rabbits at different growth stages. To enhance the growth ability of rabbits, before putting in the breeding rabbits, the rabbit house must be disinfected, and management must be strengthened to prevent bacterial infection, avoid disease, prevent impact on the healthy growth of rabbits, and avoid a decline in breeding benefits.
3. Raising Young Rabbits
The period after young rabbits have grown for 3 months and before they enter the mating stage belongs to the young rabbit stage. Young rabbits grow relatively fast, and their metabolic rate also increases, so their nutritional requirements are also relatively large. At this time, we should increase the nutritional ratio in the feed and increase the content of nutrients such as protein and vitamins. Mainly use green feed, and after reaching about 5 months of age, appropriately reduce it to prevent the rabbits from becoming too fat. Also pay attention to doing a good job of group feeding to prevent young rabbits from random mating and early mating, and improve the quality of breeding rabbits.
4. Group Management
Grouping is a task that needs attention in meat rabbit breeding. First, we must pay attention to controlling density and doing a good job of group management. Each group of adult rabbits should be kept at about 25. Raising them with males and females separated is not only convenient for management, but can also promote the growth of rabbits. When grouping, we should also plan according to the weight, growth ability, etc. of each rabbit. Prevent the phenomenon of the big bullying the small. Then we should strengthen the feed management of rabbits. Since rabbits have the habit of eating at night, we also need to feed them at night to meet the growth habits of rabbits.
