What are the treatment methods for red spots on pigs?
If pigs show symptoms of red spots, it is generally these four types of diseases, namely eperythrozoonosis, swine erysipelas, circovirus, and mosquito and insect bites. Below are the treatment methods for the four diseases, to help everyone with diagnosis.
Treatment methods for the four diseases
1. Eperythrozoonosis
First eliminate mosquitoes and flies (these two are the main vectors for spreading eperythrozoonosis), then regularly add medication for health care. Doxycycline + compound sulfachlorpyridazine sodium powder (the most commonly used anti-blood parasite drug on pig farms) added continuously for one week can effectively prevent eperythrozoonosis.
If eperythrozoonosis has already appeared, long-acting oxytetracycline, or blood parasite disinfectant, or sulfonamide drugs can be used for intramuscular injection.
2. Swine erysipelas
Treatment with Bupleurum (dexamethasone, metamizole sodium, compound aminopyrine) + penicillin. Do not use dexamethasone for pregnant sows. For treating this disease, penicillin has the best effect, followed by oxytetracycline, tetracycline, enrofloxacin, chlortetracycline and tylosin, etc.;
3. Mosquito and insect bites
Repel mosquitoes and insects, mainly with drugs; spraying floral water or other skin disease medication on piglets can solve the problem
4. Circovirus disease
First, do a good job of vaccine immunization: gilts can be immunized once before mating; multiparous sows: immunized with each pregnancy, vaccinated once 1 month before farrowing; piglets are first vaccinated at 3-4 weeks of age, with a booster immunization 1 time at an interval of 3 weeks (the immunization program needs to be determined according to local conditions; this is for reference only and should not be applied mechanically).
Antibiotics can be used to reduce secondary infection, such as amoxicillin and tilmicosin for treatment, and at the same time drugs that promote kidney excretion and relief-type drugs should be used for kidney recovery treatment.
