Breeding Methods and Technical Key Points for Yuanbao Pigeons
When breeding Yuanbao pigeons, keep the nest loft clean and dry, pay attention to providing health grit, attach leg bands in time, observe temperature and light changes in the breeding environment, and manage stocking density well.
Breeding Methods for Yuanbao Pigeons
1. Strengthen cage feeding: some parent pigeons lay eggs again when the squabs are about 15 days old. At this time, the squabs can be placed on the wire mesh for rearing. Some of these parent pigeons will continue to feed the squabs, while others have no interest in feeding them. Therefore, observe carefully, and for those that are unwilling to feed or do not feed in time, feed them manually or find foster pigeons to feed them.
2. Keep the nest loft clean and dry: nest bowls and bedding straw contaminated by droppings and dampness should be replaced in time, the loft should be disinfected regularly, and the interior should be kept clean and dry to prevent disease outbreaks.
3. Pay attention to providing health grit: to ensure the health of the squabs and increase their weight at market, health grit should be provided to the squabs on time every day to increase trace elements and vitamin content and prevent indigestion in the squabs.
4. Attach leg bands in time: the leg bands for meat pigeons are replaced with chicken wing bands, which have numbers printed on them as marks of birth time and to distinguish sister pigeons.
