Key Points of Mutton Sheep Farming Technology and Detailed Explanation of Feeding Management Methods
Farming mutton sheep requires preparing sufficient feed, which makes it convenient for subsequent overwintering supply. Forage and nutrients should be paired together; they cannot eat only forage, as this will cause malnutrition. According to their growth condition, reasonably separate part of the flock; do not keep them all concentrated together, as this may cause heatstroke or other dangers. Before grazing, check the flock carefully; do not walk too fast on the way, and never throw stones at the flock.
Mutton Sheep Farming Technology
1. Selection direction
When selecting sheep, there is no need to choose overly active lambs; choose slightly gentle and quiet ones, as these are easy to fatten and consume less energy in daily life. Lambs that tend to huddle together are a very good choice.
2. Feeding feed
Concentrate feed should mainly be high in protein and energy; when feeding concentrate feed, some forage can be appropriately left for the mutton sheep to eat at night. For confined feeding, attention should be paid to many meals and small amounts; sheep do not have a very strong absorption capacity, so feeding more frequently is more conducive to nutrient absorption and fattening. Feed should be fed as a mixed feed; 30% concentrate feed plus 50% roughage plus 10% protein feed plus 10 fresh forage is a relatively suitable ratio for feeding. Water must be given at every feeding, and in winter warm water must be fed.
3. Daily management
During daily observation, for some mutton sheep that eat less, some medication beneficial for digestion can be fed, mixed into the feed. The fattening speed of forage generally cannot compare with that of feed, and the cost gap between the two is very small, so when rapidly fattening mutton sheep, forage must still be an auxiliary nutritional supplement, while feed is the leading item.
