Bream is a middle-lower layer fish, generally fished with float fishing, keeping a certain distance between the bait and the water layer, so the bait does not touch the bottom but suspends in the middle of the water. This better matches the water layer where bream lives, making it easier to catch bream. So what bait to use for fishing bream?

1. Meat baits

Bream also likes meat baits very much; the ones used more often include earthworm bait, fly maggots, small shrimp, tubifex, etc. In addition, using red sausage as bait also works very well. In early spring and winter when the water temperature is relatively low, choosing earthworm bait or other meat baits works better than vegetarian baits.

2. Vegetarian baits

Vegetarian baits for fishing bream are mainly grain-based baits; corn flour, wheat bran, flour, bran cake powder, soybean cake powder and so on are all commonly used ingredients.

When mixing, take 50% corn flour, steam it until cooked, then add other stir-fried fragrant bait ingredients, knead it into a somewhat sticky dough, then add a small amount of qu liquor, essence and sesame oil. When using it, take a piece the size of a soybean and hang it on the fish hook. In addition, the tender tips of aquatic plants such as Hydrilla verticillata, as well as cooked rice grains, bran cake granules, soybean cake granules and so on can also be used as bait. After red-hearted sweet potato and potato are steamed until cooked, they can also be cut into 0.5 cm small cubes and used as bait; if you do not want to steam them, first cut them into cubes, then stir-fry them briefly with rapeseed oil.

Fishing depends greatly on luck. If you cannot catch bream, it may be that bream do not live here, so you might as well change to another place, and there may be a turn for the better.
