How to Keep a Gecko? Detailed Guide to Care and Precautions
A gecko is what we often call a house lizard. Many friends are keen on keeping novel small animals, and geckos are no exception. So, do you know how to keep a gecko?
How to Keep a Gecko
1. Geckos are nocturnal animals and do not need much ultraviolet light or lighting; ordinarily you can use a fluorescent lamp instead to create a day-night environment. The enclosure does not need to be very tall, but good ventilation must be maintained, and some water should be sprayed inside the enclosure every day to keep the humidity. Add moss at the appropriate times according to growth conditions, and if illness occurs, treat it promptly.
2. Keep the temperature between 20-32 degrees, with a temperature difference between morning and evening; in winter, when heating is used, the temperature difference inside the enclosure should also be maintained. For the heating device, a heating pad can be used for bottom heating, which will help its digestion, but be careful that the heating pad does not directly touch their skin. Humidity requirements are not high; spraying water on the four walls in the morning and evening is enough. However, humidity should be increased during shedding.
Currently, relatively few people keep geckos, but they are actually not difficult to keep. If you are interested, you can give it a try.
