How to Raise Tadpoles? Breeding Methods and Tips
We all raised little tadpoles as children, right? So today let's share how to raise tadpoles.
Tadpole rearing methods:
1. Tadpoles eat plankton, and it is best to use pond water to raise tadpoles; tap water will not do, and purified water will not do either.
2. Tadpoles will cannibalize each other. When many of them are together, they themselves secrete certain toxins that kill off some individuals, so that the remaining individuals can survive better in a limited environment.
3. Tadpole feed should be mainly plant-based food. Boiled spinach and lettuce are suitable feed, but do not overcook them, and remove the fibers. Tadpoles like to eat moss and microorganisms; if you keep tadpoles in a fish tank, get some moss from a river, and the moss will contain some microorganisms.
4. Give less feed at the beginning, then gradually increase it. Feed once regularly every day, and do not give too much, so as to avoid leftover feed in the water causing decay. After each feeding, the leftover feed must be removed with a suction tube, and the water should be changed every one or two days. The simplest bait is crumbs of bread or cookies or broken rice grains; you can also give a small amount of boiled egg yolk as animal-based feed.
5. Change the water once every 3~5 days, and when changing the water, you only need to pour off 2/3 of the water, then add already dechlorinated tap water back to the original level.
