What is the best time to transplant aloe?
Aloe is a herbaceous plant with thick stems and leaves, native to the tropical arid regions of Africa, and now distributed throughout the world. At present, it is cultivated in Fujian, Taiwan, China and other places. So when is it generally transplanted? What should be noted when transplanting?
When is aloe transplanted?
Aloe transplantation falls into two cases. Seedling transplantation is best done in spring, summer and autumn, and the planted seedlings should be placed in a dark place for 3-5 days; if it is a perennial aloe, it can be transplanted in all four seasons. In addition, when transplanting, it is best to do it in the cool evening, as this will give a higher survival rate.
What should be noted when transplanting aloe?
1. Watering
After transplanting, do not water too much. The best approach is to have the potting soil moist before transplanting, and after transplanting, simply firm it down, then carry out the first watering one week later. This can prevent the aloe from developing root rot due to transplanting.
2. Method
During transplanting, be careful not to damage the root system of the aloe. Wait until the roots are standing upright and naturally spread out, then gradually cover with soil. When covering with soil, be careful to gently press with your fingers at the edge of the container, not directly on the plant's roots, so that the soil is firm without damaging the roots.
3. Light
For about one week after transplanting, the plant can be kept in a spot with dappled shade, avoiding direct sunlight as much as possible, so as to ensure the survival rate of transplanting.
Although adult aloe can also be transplanted in winter, it must be done while ensuring the temperature, otherwise wait for spring, autumn or summer.
