What bait is good for reservoir fishing? A complete practical guide to bait selection tips
Generally we all go fishing at reservoirs we are familiar with, but beginners also have to start by practicing at new reservoirs. So what bait should be used for reservoir fishing? Good bait is crucial for attracting fish, so let's take a look!
1. What bait to use for reservoir fishing
For reservoir fishing, you can use fairly common baits such as large and small earthworms, green worms, and pieces of meat, or you can prepare some other baits depending on how familiar you are with the reservoir. For example, besides animal baits, there are hard baits, powder baits, and pellet baits, as well as homemade baits.
2. How to choose homemade bait
1. Prepare 300g of carp pellets, 300g of grass carp pellets, 300g of pig feed, 300g of distillers' grains, 300g of soybean residue, 300g of rapeseed cake, 500g of bran, and 200g of white sugar.
2. Mix the carp and grass carp pellets, then crush them with a food processor; mix the pig feed with the rapeseed cake and distillers' grains and also crush them with a food processor; then stir-fry the soybean residue alone in a wok until fragrant, and stir-fry the bran in a wok until fragrant as well, and set aside.
3. Pour all the materials into a large basin and stir evenly; after mixing, put it into bags and it is ready to use.
Homemade bait is mainly useful because it can be made for different species, while bought bait is more convenient; it just depends on how you choose.
