What bait works best for catching bass

1. Static float fishing
Use a hand rod or a sea rod with live bait, fishing relatively still at the fishing spot. For the hand rod, use 5.4-6.3 m. Float fishing is the main method. The best bait is live hemiculter, and it should not be too large. When hooking it, pass the hook through the back ridge, and once the hemiculter stops moving much, replace it immediately. A distance of 1-1.5 m from the bait to the float is better, matching the swimming layer of the bass. If there is no live hemiculter, fish meat segments can also be used, but the effect is much worse, and when fishing it is best to add some teasing techniques, such as slightly dragging or shaking.
2. Sea rod string hook float fishing
A string hook means tying fish hooks onto the fishing line at certain intervals to form a string. A 3 m sea rod can be used, with a string hook attached; the entire string hook is about 1 m long, tie 3 hooks, and the hooks should be larger than those used for catching crucian carp, with a long hook distance, and the lead sinker at the bottom of the string hook. On the main line above the string hook, install a plastic medicine bottle as a float, and wind the line a few turns around the bottle mouth.
3. Hand rod flowing water fishing
The bass caught are generally 3 to 4 jin, so it is recommended to use nylon line for the main line, size 4 or above, and carbon line for the leader, not smaller than size 3. Use size 3 or above Chinu hooks. Choosing a float depends on the flow speed; an Apo float can be used, sizes 1-10, and sizes 6-8 are generally used more often. The fishing layer can start at 1.5 m, and if there is no bite, deepen it, by 1 m each time.
