How to keep white-eyes well?

1. First of all, when choosing a white-eye, look at whether the color of its feathers is normal or has anything unusual. Then there is the look in its eyes; a bird's gaze is actually very important, and a bird with bright eyes is more lively and active. It is best if its voice is relatively melodious and pleasant to hear when it sings.

2. The bird cage also needs attention; after all, it should not be flimsy. In addition, consider the white-eye's living habits and determine the appropriate cage size. As for the spacing between the cage bars, it is enough as long as the bird cannot squeeze through. The cage bottom should be bright, as this helps with cleaning waste, and reasonably position the distance between the food cup and the cage dome.

3. For feed preparation and feeding, be sure to pay attention to the safety of the feed. Fruit is suitable and should mainly be the staple, supplemented with a small amount of insects; it is best to use food with relatively high nutritional content that is also easy to digest. For things like insects, live insect pupae or larvae, figure out the source yourself; you can take a look at the insect market.

4. How to tame a wild-caught bird is a very important part of bird keeping that most bird keepers never tire of and happily discuss. Coordinate different taming methods according to different birds' habits. White-eyes are relatively “bold” by nature, so there is no need to do “wing-binding” treatment. After hanging a cage curtain for a period of time, the white-eye will recognize its food, and after that everything can proceed step by step.

5. When assessing a white-eye's voice, this depends on your own judgment, because some white-eyes may not have fully developed their voice yet. Generally speaking, the grading has three levels of pitch: high, medium, and low. Some white-eyes' voices may also carry some peculiar sounds, such as a sound very much like cicada chirping; for this, it is best to ask an expert to help pick one out.

6. As for cleaning the bird cage, you must pay attention to it. Although the bird also knows where its excrement is, if it is not dealt with for two or three days there will still be some odor. If the bird gets some on its body, would that not affect the eye for appreciating beauty? In warm weather, you can give the bird a bath, but note that it needs matching sunlight.
