Which animals have no natural predators in the world?
There are countless living things in the world, forming a food chain, linked one ring after another. Are there any animals that have no natural predators?
1. Animals with no natural predators
Killer whales, sperm whales, great white sharks, polar bears, tigers, Komodo dragons, Andean condors, lions and other animals at the top of the food chain have almost no natural predators; once fully grown, they are enormous in size and highly capable of attack.
1. Killer whale: a large toothed whale; once fully grown it can reach 9 tonnes in weight, with a body length of 10 m, sharp teeth and a fierce nature.
2. Polar bear: currently the largest land carnivore; a male polar bear can reach 800 kg in weight and 2.8 m when standing upright. Their paws are huge, their claws are sharp, and they can run fast.
3. Komodo dragon: the largest living lizard. It can reach up to 3 m in length and over 100 kg. Their teeth are serrated and 2.5 cm long, and their claws are their main weapon.
4. Andean condor: also called the condor, the largest bird of prey in the world. Body length 130 cm, maximum weight up to 15 kg, with a wingspan of 3.2 m.
2. What is a food chain
The term food chain appeared in 1927 and was proposed by the British animal ecologist Elton. The chemical energy stored in organic matter in an ecosystem is transferred level by level through the ecosystem; in other words, organisms are linked to one another through eating and being eaten. This sequence, in which organisms are linked to one another by food and nutritional relationships, is like a chain, linked one ring after another, and is called a food chain in ecology.
The animals mentioned above are all outstanding in their own domains and have almost no natural predators, but human activity has reduced the animals' habitats and caused their numbers to plummet; in this sense, humans pose the greatest threat to animals.
Animals at the top of the food chain have almost no natural predators, but they also face all kinds of survival problems. Human activity has a very large impact on the entire biosphere, and we should protect the whole ecological environment and not disrupt the natural order.
