Black carp is one of the main freshwater fish species farmed in our country, and there are many farmers who raise black carp, so what feed is used for raising black carp?

I. Introduction to black carp

Black carp belongs to one of the “four major Chinese carps” of freshwater aquaculture in our country, and the other three are grass carp, silver carp and bighead carp.

The main growing area of black carp is the plain region south of the Yangtze River in our country, and it is relatively scarce north of the Yangtze River.

The black carp has a cylindrical body shape, a flat and round belly, and no ventral keel. The tail is slightly laterally compressed. The snout is blunt, but more pointed and protruding than that of the grass carp.

Because the black carp is not very active by nature, it generally moves in the middle and lower layers of the water body, and its food, besides artificial feed, mainly consists of river snails, mussels, corbicula clams, clams, and so on.

II. What feed is used for raising black carp?

The feed commonly used for raising black carp is a mixed feed of soybean cake, silkworm pupae, green hay, fish meal, barley and rapeseed cake, and so on, combined in different proportions. Additionally, you can feed some river snails, corbicula clams, young mussels, small shrimp, earthworms, corn, sweet potato and potato, and so on. If fishing for black carp, you can use ground bait to lure the fish, and the bait can be made by combining the above.

The specific formulas are as follows:

1. Soybean cake 47.5%, fish meal 35%, yeast 1%, inorganic salts and so on 16.5%, feed coefficient 2.26;

2. Hay powder 40%, silkworm pupae 30%, rapeseed cake 10%, barley 20%, feed coefficient 3;

3. Fish meal 5%, soybean cake 35%, wheat bran 18%, corn 15%, soil flour 10%, yeast 5%, rapeseed cake 10%, multivitamins 0.15%, inorganic salts 1%, soybean oil 1%, crude protein 27.4%, rearing species and method: mainly black carp, polycultured with silver carp, bighead carp and so on, feed coefficient 2.51.
