Complete Collection of Duck Feed Formulas and Preparation Methods
Duck meat is delicious, low in fat, and high in nutritional value, making it a favorite food for many people. At present, quite a few farmers are already raising ducks. Below, the editor will share homemade duck feed formulas.
1. Homemade duck feed formulas
During the duckling stage, feed can be prepared with 50% corn, 20% rapeseed cake, 10% broken rice, 10% wheat bran, 7.5% fish meal, 1% meat meal, 1% shell powder, and 0.5% salt. For the growing duck stage and laying stage, use 51% corn, 22% soybean meal, 3% rapeseed meal or cottonseed meal, 10% wheat middlings, 9.7% stone powder, 4% premix, and 0.3% salt. The main components of the additives include amino acids, vitamins, and minerals.
2. What are the key points for preparing duck feed?
1. Economic principle
Feed sources should be adapted to local conditions, using as much as possible feed that is locally produced, economical and practical, and easy to obtain. Feed ingredients should be diversified, and feed prices should be considered, striving to reduce the production cost of compound feed and improve economic benefits.
2. Feed ingredients
The quality of feed ingredients should meet standard requirements, and both quality and palatability should be good. For powdered ingredients such as fish meal and meat meal, because their sources differ, nutrient content varies greatly, so adulteration and passing off inferior goods as superior must be prevented; the moisture content of feed ingredients should meet standard requirements, as excessive moisture relatively reduces their nutrients; moldy, spoiled, pesticide-contaminated feed or ingredients containing harmful substances cannot be used, and rapeseed cake and cottonseed cake should be detoxified and used in limited amounts.
3. Ration formulation
Ration formulation should be relatively stable. If changes are truly necessary, they should be made gradually, preferably with a 1-week transition period; otherwise, it will cause stress reactions and reduce production performance.
4. Mix thoroughly
All kinds of feed must be thoroughly mixed. In particular, various additives such as multivitamins, trace elements, and drugs must be mixed even more carefully; otherwise, adverse consequences will result.
5. Storage conditions
Feed should be stored in a dry, cool place. Under high-temperature and high-humidity conditions, the destruction of vitamins and nutrients will be accelerated. Although adding mold inhibitors and antioxidants helps extend the storage period of feed, it should still be used up within 4 weeks.
6. Selecting ingredients
Based on the duck's digestive physiological characteristics and growth and development stage, and combined with local feed resources, consider the feed's digestibility, palatability, and nutritional value. Feed volume is an important factor affecting a duck's feed intake. The feed volume for ducklings should be small, so that more nutrients are consumed, while the feed volume for growing ducks should be large in order to play a restricted-feeding role.
7. Feeding standards
Based on feeding standards, appropriately adjust according to the duck's production purpose, age, production performance, environmental conditions, management conditions, and other specific circumstances to determine the appropriate nutrient requirements. Feed formulation
When formulating feed, as many kinds of feed as possible should be selected, whether grain feed or protein feed, so as to fully leverage the complementary and balancing effects of nutrients among feed ingredients and improve the nutritional value and utilization rate of the ration.
Duck feed preparation needs to be reasonably customized according to the duck's growth conditions, so that fat and large ducks can be raised.
