The Money Tree is also called the Money Plant, and it symbolizes money rolling in in the new year, so it is often grown in people's homes. So, what is the cultivation method for the Money Tree?

1. Choose the soil

The Money Tree has low requirements for soil; it can grow well even in infertile soil, but it is still best to use a fertile soil mixed from leaf mold, forest soil and coal cinder in a 2:1:1 ratio. This mixed soil can promptly provide nutrients to the Money Tree and also allows its roots to spread out better.

2. Shade from the sun in summer

Usually in spring, autumn and winter, the Money Tree can be placed in a spot with better light for care, which can make its branches and leaves grow more glossy. If the Money Tree lacks light, its ornamental value will be reduced. When growing it in summer, try to avoid direct sunlight, as it can easily dehydrate the leaves.

3. Water and fertilizer management

Generally, in the cultivation method for the Money Tree, the Money Tree needs to be watered twice a week, moistening the soil evenly around the pot each time. In winter, keep the soil slightly moist. When the base fertilizer for growing the Money Tree is sufficient, apply a thin fertilizer once a month; usually a nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium compound fertilizer once every 15-20 days is enough.

4. Shaping and pruning

After the Money Tree sprouts and grows from seeds or cuttings, when it grows to 15-20cm, all the branches of the young Money Tree can be cut off, leaving only the main trunk. After the plant is established, it can be shaped and pruned once every spring. First prune the useless branches, then shape and prune according to the form you like.

5. Cutting propagation

Each time the Money Tree is shaped and pruned after being established, quite robust and thick branches can be selected from it for cuttings. All the leaves on the branch can be removed, and the taken branch needs to be soaked in a carbendazim solution, taken out after 3 minutes and dried in a cool place. Then insert the branch into the soil to prevent the wound from rotting and make it easier to take root.

In the process of growing the Money Tree, you only need to do basic management such as water and fertilizer management and timely pruning. Friends who are interested can try growing one or two pots at home; it carries the meaning of bringing in wealth and can also beautify the garden.
