How much profit can you make per mu (acre) from raising loach in rice paddies? Farming methods included
Loach is probably a dish that many people quite enjoy eating. Its flesh is delicious and its nutritional value is high. In recent years, its market sales have remained good. Because of its strong adaptability, it is not difficult to farm. So, how much profit can you make per mu from raising loach in rice paddies? In addition, we have included the farming methods for you!
I. How much profit can you make per mu from raising loach in rice paddies?
1. Input costs
These are mainly fry and feed inputs. Beginners should choose inch-long fry about 3-5 cm in size. At present, loach inch fry cost about 3500 yuan per mu. For feed, floating fish feed with a protein content above 36% is mainly chosen. At present, the feed cost of raising one jin of loach is about 4.5 yuan, and the yield per mu is generally above 2000 jin, so the feed cost needs 9000 yuan. Normal disease prevention and disinfection plus water conditioning supplies cost about 500 yuan, and water and electricity maintenance costs about 500 yuan. The total cost input for raising one mu of loach is about 13500 yuan.
2. Harvest profit
Loach generally yields more than 2000 jin per mu. Calculated at 2000 jin, at the current wholesale average price of 11 yuan, the income can be 22000 yuan. After deducting the total farming cost, one mu of loach can earn about 8500 yuan. The farming cycle of loach inch fry is about 100 days, and most areas across the country can farm two seasons a year, so raising one mu of loach can earn about 17000 yuan a year. At the same time, as farmers' farming techniques keep improving, more and more people are now self-breeding and self-raising or buying water-fry for farming. Raising loach from water-fry will require less input, and the farming benefit will be higher.
II. Methods for farming loach in rice paddies
1. Field construction
The field chosen should preferably have an area of about 1.5 mu. The rice paddy needs well-built ridges, and plastic film should be buried on the inner side of the ridges to prevent the loach from burrowing and escaping. Two layers of blocking nets should be built at the inlet and outlet, with polyethylene net on the outside and metal net on the inside. Appropriate-sized fish pits can be dug in the field; the fish pits can be square, round or irregular in shape.
2. Fry stocking
For rotational farming, generally after the early rice is harvested, the field is dried for 3-4 days, about 130 kg of rice bran and rapeseed cake is spread per mu, and the next day about 250 kg of decomposed organic manure is applied per mu, then it is exposed to the sun for 4-5 days to let it rot and decompose, after which water is stored and loach fry are stocked. For concurrent farming, loach fry are generally stocked after rice transplanting. For single-season rice, the stocking time should be after the first weeding of the field. For double-season rice, the stocking time is generally after the late rice is transplanted. Generally about 25000 inch fry are stocked per mu.
3. Feed feeding
After loach fry are stocked, in the first month feed a mixed feed of half animal feed and half plant feed once a day, with each feeding amount being 3-4% of the total body weight of the loach. After 1 month, apply topdressing once every 15 days, with about 100 kg of fermented organic fertilizer applied per mu each time, and at the same time feed rice bran, soybean cake, rapeseed cake, silkworm pupae and other feed. In the later stage, fertilizer and bait can be applied in the fish collection pit, which helps concentrate the catch for harvesting.
4. Daily management
Frequently check the anti-escape facilities. The water level should be adjusted in good time according to the growth needs of the rice or the loach. Before the rice tillers, the water level needs to be shallow. During the rice jointing stage, the water level can be appropriately deepened. During heavy rain, special attention must be paid to preventing the loach from escaping out of the field.
Southern China has vast rice paddy areas and abundant water sources, making it most suitable for farming loach. This way, water area can be saved while grain planting is not affected, achieving two benefits at once, and it is a relatively efficient loach farming model.
