Nowadays, when people keep pets, besides cats, dogs, rabbits, and snakes, quite a few people also keep fish. And generally, they buy fry to raise. So do you know how to raise small fry?

How to raise small fry?

1. Feed

For newly born small fry, it is best to feed them a little bit of cooked egg yolk; after they grow a bit larger, you can feed them brine shrimp or water fleas, and when they are larger still, feed them earthworms, bloodworms, and so on.

2. Fish tank

Small fish should be kept separately from large fish. For fry within 1 month old, a water level that is too high is very unfavorable for their development, so keeping it at a height of 15 to 18 cm is enough.

3. Water changes

Small fry generally have their water changed once a week, each time replacing 1/3 of the water in the tank. Of course, some fish are different; for example, guppies have their water changed once a day, each time replacing about 20%. Change 50% twice a week, and after 2 weeks do a full water change once, while also cleaning the tank thoroughly.

4. Density

Determine the breeding density according to the size of the fish tank, because if the density is too high, water quality is hard to control and disease easily occurs; while if the density is too low, with a large tank and few fish, the fish do not need to compete for food, which leads to a lack of excitement and movement, thus affecting the growth rate.

Of course, different fish species have different breeding methods and points that need attention, so the specifics should be determined according to the fish species.
