How to Raise Grass Carp Fry? A Detailed Guide to the Key Breeding Techniques
Fish farming is now a fairly popular profession, and fry breeding is one type of it, so how do you raise grass carp fry?
1. Choosing and cleaning the pond
The fry pond should be chosen with a fairly firm surrounding area, and next, good water retention. The fry pond should be chosen in a spot with sunlight as well as some shade, and finally, the water in the fry pond is generally just 60 to 70 cm deep. Before putting in the fry, the pond must be cleaned out and disinfected.
2. Feeding and baiting
The food fed is generally insects, special fry feed or some plankton. When the fry grow to 4 or 5 cm, we can switch to feeding various kinds of rotifers.
3. Changing the water
Changing the water does not mean replacing all of it; a portion of the relatively clean old pond water needs to be kept, and then two thirds new water is added, so that when released the water will still contain the microorganisms and plankton the fry need, making it easy for them to find food on their own.
The above are the methods for raising grass carp fry, and I hope they can help those who need them.
