How to Keep a Small Tiger Shark? Detailed Guide to Feeding Methods and Precautions
With the improvement of living standards and breeding technology, there are more and more pets available to keep, and the small tiger shark is one of them. So how do you keep it? Let's take a look below.
How to keep a small tiger shark?
1. Breeding environment
For any species that wants to grow up healthily, living space is something that must be addressed. The same is true for the small tiger shark. Give it a large enough living environment so that it has ample room to move around, which is good for its healthy growth. In addition, the fish tank must be larger than the fish tanks of other small fish species.
2. Temperature
The small tiger shark is a tropical fish species, so it has requirements for temperature. The suitable temperature is between 20 and 30 degrees. If it is below this range, not only will its activity level decline, but its survival will also be affected. Therefore, heating measures must be prepared. In summer, when the temperature is high, be careful not to let the water temperature get too high; in winter, when it is freezing cold, be careful to raise the water temperature.
3. Water quality
Although the small tiger shark is physically strong and has strong resistance, as a pet species it still needs careful attention. Filtration and oxygenation measures must all be fully prepared. Prevent water quality from deteriorating due to weather or environmental factors. Clean up impurities and foreign matter in the fish tank in a timely manner, and also promptly remove leftover food that has not been eaten.
4. Food
The small tiger shark has omnivorous feeding habits. You can feed it fish food, and you can also feed it some small fish and shrimp. If they are small fish and shrimp you found yourself from a wild environment, do not feed them right away; keep them in another fish tank for a few days before feeding. Of course, you can also go to an aquarium or a flower-and-bird fish market to buy specialized fish feed.
Because the small tiger shark has strong activity ability and a relatively fierce temperament, it is best to keep it alone to avoid attacks caused by mixed keeping.
