The small red fish is a Yizhanghong ornamental fish species that is entirely red all over, and it is a relatively popular species among aquarium pets. Below, we introduce how to keep small red fish.
How to keep small red fish?
1. Stocking density
Home rectangular aquariums are relatively small in volume, so never keep too many; fewer is better than more. For example, in a container 40 cm long, 25 cm wide and 30 cm high, you can keep 6-8 fish 5-7 cm long. In a round glass bowl 26 cm in diameter and 13 cm high, you can keep 4-6 fish 4-6 cm long.
2. Light
Place the fish tank in a spot that gets 1-2 hours of sunlight. This uses the ultraviolet rays of sunlight to sterilize. It plays a role in disease prevention. This can reduce illness.
3. Feed
Mainly nutritious animal-based feed and white sesame seeds, such as water fleas, earthworms, yellow mealworms, green worms, skin worms, etc. You can also appropriately feed plant-based feed and artificial pellet feed, such as duckweed, planktonic seaweed, chlorella, etc. Common raw materials for artificial pellet feed include fish meal, silkworm pupa meal, barley flour, bran, yeast powder, vitamins, green feed, etc. They are mixed in a certain ratio and processed into pellet feed of various sizes.
4. Changing water
Keep the water quality in the aquarium clear, so change the water often, but when changing water you can only change one-third to one-quarter of it, and you must not change a lot all at once, as the fish will not adapt.
Generally speaking, if you pay attention to the above points, there will not be much problem in keeping small red fish well.
