How to care for the Rainbow Iron Plant? Detailed care methods and precautions
The Rainbow Iron Plant has very strong adaptability and has no special requirements for the environment. Today I will explain how to care for the Rainbow Iron Plant?
1. Sunlight
The Rainbow Iron Plant likes a warm, humid environment with plenty of light. Therefore, it should usually be placed in a spot with sunlight, but it is not tolerant of scorching sun exposure, and new leaves in particular are very easily scorched and turn dry and yellow. Therefore, during the new leaf stage, some shading should be provided.
2. Soil
The Rainbow Iron Plant does have certain requirements for soil. Generally, choose a loose, slightly acidic sandy loam mixed with 20% fully decomposed organic base fertilizer.
3. Fertilizer
During the growing season, apply a small amount of topdressing, and apply 200-300 times diluted ferrous sulfate water 1-2 times per year to prevent yellow-leaf disease (iron deficiency) in the sago palm.
4. Watering
The Rainbow Iron Plant needs to be watered reasonably. Generally, it is best to water once a day, and watering in the morning is recommended. Each watering must ensure the soil is moist.
If the leaves of the sago palm have already scorched and dried up and lost their ornamental value, the old leaves can be cut off, and daily management should be strengthened. When the weather turns cool, the sago palm will grow new leaves again.
