How to cycle water for tropical fish? Detailed methods and steps for cycling water
Tropical fish are a kind of ornamental fish that is very easy to keep, with diverse varieties that are easy to raise, so many people like to keep a few at home. But if you want to keep tropical fish well, you need to cycle the water well. So how do you cycle water for tropical fish?
1. How to cycle water for tropical fish?
To cycle water well when keeping tropical fish, the fish tank must have an oxygen pump and it must be kept running 24 hours a day to ensure sufficient dissolved oxygen and water flow. At the same time, there must be nitrifying bacteria in the water to purify the water quality. In addition, there must be aquatic plants and basal fertilizer under the sand; generally, some liquid fertilizer can be added.
2. How to raise tropical fish fry?
1. Add water in stages. In order to meet the requirements of fry at different stages for activity space, water quality, nutrition and other conditions, adding water in stages is an effective measure to increase the survival rate and growth rate during fry rearing. The specific method is: stock shallow water, that is, when the fry are stocked, the water depth is about 0.6 m, and afterward, according to the water color and fry growth, add water once every 4 to 5 days, adding 10 to 20 cm each time, with the water depth finally stabilizing at 1.2 to 1.5 m.
2. Daily management. Patrol the pond once in the morning and once in the evening each day, carefully observe the water quality, fry activity and feeding conditions, promptly remove sick fish and dead fish, check immediately, and if the fry are confirmed to be sick, take necessary prevention and control measures. In addition, check the embankment for leaks and whether the drainage outlet is intact, and pay attention to preventing escape.
3. Divide ponds in time. After about 25 days of rearing, when the fry reach a total length of 2.5 to 3.0 cm, netting, sorting and dividing into ponds for thinner stocking should be carried out in a planned way; otherwise, the survival rate of fry rearing will be low.
Overall, tropical fish are still quite easy to cycle water for. As long as an oxygen pump is placed in the fish tank and kept running 24 hours a day, some aquatic plants are planted inside, and some nitrifying bacteria are added, the water can be cycled well, and then the fish will naturally be easy to keep.
