How to Raise Puppies? A Detailed Guide to Puppy Feeding Methods
Dogs are very cute animals and get along harmoniously with humans, and many people keep dogs. So, how do you raise puppies?
1. Build a dog kennel
The dog kennel should be built in a place that is sheltered from the wind, sunny, flat, and with dry, fresh air, and it should face south so that it is warm in winter and cool in summer. The area around the kennel should be enclosed with bricks, with a shade awning put up in the middle, and the inside of the awning divided by bamboo into several small compartments. If it is a pet dog kept at home, you can directly buy a dog house. The water trough and food trough in the kennel need to be built with cement, and you should make sure each dog has its own, and it should also be equipped with a water bucket, baskets, and a mixing basin and other equipment. A pool for discharging manure and urine should be built at the four corners of the kennel.
2. Choose breeding dogs
For a male breeding dog, choose one with a well-proportioned body, moderate knee spacing, tight coat, a proper head shape, even teeth, a straight tail, a tight belly, and a broad chest, and you must make sure the male breeding dog's reproductive organs develop normally; for a female breeding dog, choose one with a well-proportioned body, good health, a broad and thick body, strong disease resistance, more nipples that are well developed, and a gentle temperament.
3. Feed food
Feed food at fixed times and in fixed amounts, neither earlier nor later; you can choose to feed once each morning and evening, and try to feed a little more in the evening. The food must be fresh, and never use overnight food or moldy, spoiled food; drinking water should be clean and fresh, and must not be deteriorated water or kitchen swill. Before feeding food, make sure the feeding utensils are clean and hygienic.
4. Cleaning and disinfection
Ensure the dog kennel is clean and hygienic, do a good job of daily fly, mosquito, and rat control, clean the kennel once a day, sweep away the manure and debris in the kennel, and also wash and brush the meat dogs regularly. The kennel and feeding utensils should be disinfected regularly to eliminate bacteria and viruses in the kennel.
5. Deworming and epidemic prevention
Deworming of meat dogs should be done on time; the first deworming can be done when the puppy is about 20 days old, and then deworming should be done on time within the following 6 months, generally once a month. Epidemic prevention for meat dogs should be strengthened; for bacterial diseases, drugs can be used for prevention, and for viral diseases, vaccines should be given. Puppies should be vaccinated for the first time at 30 days, vaccinated again at 90 days, and then vaccinated once a year thereafter.
When raising puppies, you must be careful about what they eat; it is best to go to a specialized place to buy dog food or consult a professional veterinarian, and feed them according to a recipe.
