How to Raise Indonesian Tiger Datnoid Fry? Detailed Breeding Guide
The Indonesian tiger datnoid is an ornamental fish with a white body color and black stripes, with very high ornamental value, and some people keep a few specially at home, so how do you raise Indonesian tiger datnoid fry?
1. Preparing the water
Before the Indonesian tiger datnoid fry arrive, we should start preparing the water 5 days in advance. The specific method is drip filtration; the filter material should be a cotton-based product (because a certain amount of medication needs to be added, so avoid chemical reactions with filter materials of other materials). Then there should be aeration, with continuous heavy oxygen. On the third day after starting to prepare the water, add oxytetracycline tablets and continue filtering. In between, also add nitrifying bacteria so that the water quality is not affected by the medication. In this way, the water preparation work is basically finished.
2. Introducing the fish
Soak the fish, bag and all, in the fish tank; after half an hour, confirm that the fry have adapted to the water temperature in the tank; once adapted, open the bag, pour the fry from the bag together with the water into a box prepared in advance, then use a dropper to drip water from the tank with the prepared water into the box; this dripping should take about one and a half hours. One more thing that needs to be done is to lower the water level. A water level of 20cm is enough. This will greatly reduce the pressure on the fry. After this, the fry can be put into the tank. When putting them into the tank, also pay attention: gently place the fry into the tank together with the water.
3. Raising
10 hours after the fry enter the tank, remove all the dead fry. At this time, the fry, having traveled a long distance, will certainly feel hungry. We can take out frozen bloodworms, thaw them, cut them into very small segments, and evenly sprinkle them in the corners of the fish tank where the tiger datnoid fry gather, to let the fry feed.
4. Changing the water
On the second day after the fry enter the tank, the water has already become somewhat cloudy. At this time, take about 500 jin of new water from the water preparation tank, use a hose to drip it into the tank, and after the dripping is finished, use the hose to siphon out the fish excrement and food residue. Two hours after changing the water, supplement with feeding.
5. Daily feeding
Young fish are not suited to being fed too much; after all, the fry are too small, and their stomach and intestines are not as robust as those of adult fish. We need to feed small amounts more often, to entice the tiger datnoid fry to eat and stimulate their interest in food.
6. Environmental requirements
Indonesian tiger datnoid fish like brackish water, so during the raising period, try to imitate the natural environment: plant some aquatic plants, place some rocks, make some stone caves, and you can also use some clay flower pots to simulate rock caves; this can make the tiger datnoid happier. Sufficient dissolved oxygen and a certain water flow are indispensable for tiger datnoid fish.
