Berried shrimp are unhatched individuals after broodstock mating and spawning; after hatching, berried shrimp become shrimp fry. So how do you raise berried shrimp?

1. Water quality

Berried shrimp are stocked at high density, and water quality deteriorates very easily, so promptly removing leftover feed and dead shrimp, increasing water changes, or installing a recirculating water treatment system is the fundamental way to solve water quality problems.

2. Light

Red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii) are animals that rest by day and come out at night, and they spawn in burrows. Therefore, artificial spawning facilities need shade equipment, and a dim environment can promote smooth spawning in red swamp crayfish.

3. Water level and water flow

The water depth in cement ponds is generally controlled at 30-50 cm. Do not change the water frequently, as this will disturb spawning in red swamp crayfish. To ensure good water quality, you can change the water once every 2-3 days, changing 20% each time; when changing the water, control the water flow and try not to cause great stimulation to the broodstock shrimp.

4. Feeding

After stocking, feed once a day around dusk at 0.5%-1% of the stocked shrimp body weight; minced snail, mussel meat, and small trash fish are best for the feed.

For berried shrimp, choose those whose fertilized eggs are in the early to middle stages of development; it is not advisable to choose berried shrimp in the late stage of development.
