Mussels are distributed in Asia, Europe, North America, and North Africa. Most of them can naturally form pearls inside their bodies, and their meat is edible. So how do you raise mussels?

1. How to Raise Mussels

First, try to simulate the mussel's living environment as much as possible by placing some fine sand in the fish tank. Then keep the water for raising mussels clean, and replace it promptly after a period of time. Next, choose some rotten meat, carrion, or relatively small earthworms to feed it. Finally, place the mussel in a cool place. Remember never to expose it to the sun, otherwise the mussel will be sun-dried to death.

2. Methods for Opening a Mussel

1. Gently cut open the back of the mussel from the middle with a small knife.

2. You can use a kitchen knife aimed at the opening of the mussel and pry it apart left and right.

3. Fill a large basin with enough boiling water, put the mussel in to soak, and before long the mussel will open its shell on its own.

4. Place a small knife near the mussel's mouth and cut toward both sides respectively to sever the ligaments, and the shell will naturally open.

Mussels live by burrowing into the mud and sand at the bottom of the water, and their ability to move is very limited. It has no head and no organs for catching food, so it cannot actively catch food.
