Zebra pufferfish are very smart and also easy to keep, and they can become very friendly pets. So how do you keep a zebra pufferfish?
1. Environment
The zebra pufferfish is considered an unusual type among pufferfish, and is only suitable for being kept alone; even individuals of the same species cannot share the same tank, and keeping them with other species will result in them biting or swallowing other ornamental fish, so they must be kept separately.
2. Water Quality
For keeping zebra pufferfish, the recommended water temperature is 24°C-28°C, with a pH between 6.0-7.8; this kind of water quality suits their survival and is beneficial to their growth and development.
3. Feeding
Zebra pufferfish are carnivorous fish with a very high demand for meat. Foods you can feed them include frozen shrimp, rosy red minnows, live shrimp, small shrimp, loaches, frozen bloodworms, or frozen fish, snails, shrimp, mosquito larvae, mussels, clams and other shellfish foods.
When keeping zebra pufferfish, it is best not to move the fish tank around at will, as that is not good for the growth of zebra pufferfish.
