How to keep paradise fish? Even beginners can learn these breeding methods
Hearing the name betta, many friends will imagine that it is a very fierce fish, but in fact they are very gentle in temperament, and even keeping them mixed with other fish species is no problem at all, and their appearance is very beautiful. Paradise fish is a kind of betta, so how do you keep paradise fish?
We can refer to the methods for keeping bettas.
1. Water temperature
Bettas do not have very high requirements for water temperature. As long as the temperature is controlled at around 20-30°C, it is generally not a big problem. The optimal water temperature is 24-27°C. The water is best kept as neutral water, and the pH value is best controlled between 6.5 and 7.2
2. Fish tank setup
A thin layer of substrate sand can be spread on the bottom of the fish tank. The purpose of placing substrate sand is to stabilize the roots of aquatic plants, and it can also allow microorganisms to attach better. The water to substrate sand ratio is best 5:1. If appropriate, adding hornwort, black algae and the like can provide sufficient oxygen in the tank and also give the fish a place to hide.
3. Light
Bettas need sufficient light, so aquatic plants can be used to help regulate photosynthesis. We can place a small lamp with soft light in the fish tank.
4. Feed
Most people choose artificial dried bait as the essential food for feeding bettas, and floating feed is best. Normally, fresh live bait can be fed at intervals, such as tubifex worms, brine shrimp, water fleas, etc. Eating these will make the betta's colors look more vivid
