Sea bream is a general term for many species of sea bream; the artificially farmed sea bream is generally the black sea bream (Acanthopagrus schlegelii), so how do you raise sea bream?

1. Preliminary Preparation

You need to choose a suitable farming area according to the habits of sea bream and carry out dredging and disinfection.

Choose a shrimp pond with a relatively hard mud-sand bottom, sand bottom or gravel bottom, in a farming area with good water quality, no pollution and easy management, with an area of 10-30% mu, a water depth of more than 2 m, a water exchange capacity of more than 30, no pollution sources nearby and convenient transportation.

In January, drain the remaining water and close the sluice gates to dry in the sun. From the end of February to early March, dredge the farming area to a depth of about 10 cm, then thoroughly disinfect the farming area with bleaching powder at 25-30 kg per mu.

2. Stocking Fry

Prepare the basic bait for breeding and stock the fry. In the early stage, feed basic bait; in the later stage, increase the feeding amount and feed meat such as trash fish and shrimp.

A rich variety and quantity of bait will play a very good role in the early growth of the fry.

In early April, release the fry into the pond. The fry size is about 70 g per fish, and the stocking density per mu is between 580 and 620 fish. After stocking, start feeding a small amount on the third day and observe the fry's activity and survival rate.

3. Other Management

During the growth period of sea bream, water quality management and disease control are also required.

Water quality management: In the early stage after stocking the fry, since the amount of feeding is small, the water quality is relatively stable, so change the water as little as possible. In the middle and later stages, as the water temperature rises, increase the amount of water exchanged. In the later stage, because the feeding amount increases and metabolites increase, use 7 kg of calcium peroxide water quality improver per mu to improve the water quality environment.

Disease control: To control the occurrence of fish diseases, the following measures are mainly taken: first, feed high-quality bait; second, regularly feed medicated bait; third, each time water is taken in, sprinkle with bleaching powder at 1 g/m3.
