How is swine fever treated? Introduction to commonly used treatment methods
Swine fever is a highly infectious disease that often causes huge losses to the pig farming industry. Pigs of different ages, sexes and breeds, as well as wild boars, are all susceptible, and it can occur in all four seasons. So how is swine fever treated?
1. How is swine fever treated?
Swine fever can be treated with Gao Re Jin Zhen, injected at a dose of 0.2ml per kilogram, together with Chai Hu and high-content ceftiofur sodium. If you do not want to use medication, you should strengthen purification measures, promptly cull virus-carrying breeding pigs, and carry out immunization measures well, formulate an immunization plan, strengthen disinfection treatment, and disinfect regularly.
2. Prevention methods
1. Regular preventive injection. Every year in spring and autumn, in addition to a general injection of lapinized attenuated swine fever vaccine for adult pigs, weaned piglets and newly purchased pigs should also be vaccinated in time. Dilute the lapinized attenuated swine fever vaccine with normal saline according to the instructions on the bottle label, and inject 1 milliliter intramuscularly for both large and small pigs; immunity can be produced 4 days after injection.
2. In areas where swine fever frequently occurs, piglets are injected once at 25-30 days of age, and injected again after weaning at 55-60 days of age, and the protection rate can reach 100%.
3. Injecting pregnant sows with the vaccine can enhance the ability of both mother and offspring to resist the swine fever virus. Generally, a preventive injection is given one and a half months before the sow gives birth.
4. Emergency immunization. In pig herds where an outbreak has already occurred, emergency preventive injection can play a role in controlling the outbreak and preventing its spread. When injecting, you can start with pigs in surrounding disease-free areas and disease-free pig houses, then inject the pigs in the same herd; diseased pigs are generally not injected. To strengthen immunity, the dose can be appropriately increased during injection.
5. Strengthen feeding management, regularly disinfect pig pens, improve the overall disease resistance of the pig herd, and put an end to purchasing pigs from epidemic areas. Newly purchased pigs should be isolated and observed for 30 days, and only after being confirmed disease-free and injected with swine fever vaccine can they be mixed into the herd.
6. During a swine fever epidemic, feeding utensils should be disinfected once every 3-5 days. After the diseased pigs are disinfected, thoroughly remove feces and filth, remove the topsoil, and lay new soil; pig manure should be piled up for fermentation.
When swine fever occurs, preventive measures must be taken well to avoid the occurrence of swine fever and cause large-scale production reduction. If the disease occurs, isolate the pigs in time and receive treatment.
