In the process of raising geese, goose feed is a very important factor. Only when the goose feed is properly formulated will the quality of the geese raised be good. So what exactly are homemade goose feed formulas?

1. Living habits of geese

Geese are a common kind of poultry and are naturally fond of water. They spend 1/3 of each day in water and are used to playing, foraging, and courting and mating in water. Therefore, a goose farm should be established in an environment with a good water source and broad water areas.

Geese are herbivorous poultry, and their feed is mainly plant-based feed. They have strong foraging activity and can forage for large amounts of natural plant-based feed, consuming about 2kg of green grass per day.

Adult geese have strong cold resistance. They can swim in cold winter and can also stay outdoors overnight. This is related to the thick, dense, and close-fitting down of geese, which has a very good heat-insulating and warmth-preserving function.

Geese have keen hearing, strong alertness, quick reactions, and loud calls. When geese encounter strangers or other animals, they will call loudly as a warning. During the raising of geese, the flock should be prevented from being frightened so as to avoid stress, which would affect the growth and development of the geese and the fattening effect.

2. Homemade goose feed formulas

Goose feed formulas are not completely the same at different stages. Among them:

1. Raw materials: corn, wheat bran, rice bran, bone meal, soybean cake, grass meal, fish meal, etc.;

2. Early laying period: rice bran 5%, soybean meal 23%, corn 61.3%, shell powder 1.1%, salt 0.3%, calcium hydrogen phosphate 1.3%, fish meal 1%, rapeseed meal 6%, additives 1%;

3. Laying period: wheat bran 10%, peanut meal 10%, corn 51%, soybean meal 5%, bone meal 1%, rice bran 20%, salt 0.4%, shell powder 2.6%;

4. Resting period: corn 33%, rice bran 25%, wheat bran 25%, soybean meal 11%, fish meal 3%, shell powder 2%, bone meal 1%.

After preparing the above raw materials in proportion, mix them evenly and they can be used to feed geese.
