How to Keep Small Shrimp? A Detailed Guide to Breeding Methods and Key Technical Points
I believe friends who grew up in the countryside have all had the experience of going down to the river in summer to catch fish and shrimp, right? The fish and shrimp caught can not only be eaten but also kept as pets. So how do you keep small shrimp?
How to keep small shrimp?
1. Water quality
The water for keeping small shrimp must be good. Generally, running water such as river water or stream water is best for raising them. If that is not available, tap water can be used, but before use it needs to be exposed to the sun for 3-5 days in advance. Secondly, it is best to change the water once every 1-2 days.
2. Water temperature
Shrimp are very sensitive by nature. As long as the water temperature rises even one degree Celsius above the required water temperature, they will die. Therefore, when keeping pet shrimp, you must always pay attention to adjusting the temperature of the fish tank. This is especially true when hatching shrimp eggs. The container used for breeding should be a little larger to make it easier for them to move around.
3. Feeding
The feed given is mainly aquatic organisms, aquatic insects, plant fragments, organic debris and fish feed. Some minced meat can also be fed in moderation.
4. Mixed culture
When keeping small shrimp, it is best not to keep them together with fish, turtles or the like, to prevent the small shrimp from being eaten as food.
If conditions permit, you can appropriately place some small stones, aquatic plants and the like in the breeding container. Simulating the natural environment is best.
