To keep a baby green turtle, water quality must be good. If using tap water, it must first be exposed to sunlight for 3-5 days and disinfected properly. Feeding is mainly based on fish, seaweed, crustaceans, and cephalopod mollusks, and the food must be kept fresh. Normally there should be 3-4 hours of light. Before winter begins, give it sufficient nutrition so it can hibernate. In addition, when keeping turtles, also pay attention to the following points.

Precautions for keeping turtles

1. Environment

For aquatic turtles and semi-aquatic turtles, the water depth should not exceed the shell, otherwise the turtle's body parts will be moistened unevenly, its growth will be restricted, and it will become deformed.

2. Light

Sunbathe for 2-3 hours every day (except during hibernation). The main thing to watch is that the temperature is not too high, as it can sunburn or kill the turtle. Alternatively, use a basking lamp 3-4 times a week, about 2 hours each time.

3. Feeding

Feed many different types of food, fresh meat; food diversity is the guarantee of a turtle's health. In addition, some vitamins, calcium tablets, oxytetracycline, etc. can be added to the food to enhance the turtle's immunity.

4. Water quality

Generally, change the water half an hour after feeding, and clean the container thoroughly when changing the water. If the water itself is contaminated, you can change the water first; do not use too much new water, and the water level only needs to reach the turtle's abdomen, then change the water again after the turtle eats and excretes. The water added is best kept at the same temperature as the water in the tank, and the water should also be disinfected and exposed to sunlight in advance.

If conditions permit, you can let the baby green turtle move around, as this can promote its appetite.
