The Angora rabbit is a world-famous wool-type rabbit breed, and it is a type of long-haired rabbit. Its fur is thick and fine, and it is also known online as the cao ni rabbit. So how do you raise an Angora rabbit?

1. How to Raise an Angora Rabbit

In the city, you can raise an Angora rabbit by simply feeding it some rabbit pellets along with water, which is more suitable for city life. The Angora rabbit is an ornamental rabbit, and when kept in the city it is mostly used for viewing. If you provide it with an activity area of about 2 sq m at home, it can move around normally.

2. Precautions for Raising an Angora Rabbit

1. Fur cleaning

Because their fur is extremely thick, they should be brushed at least once a week, otherwise it can easily turn into a messy ball of fur. Since rabbits do not like water, it is recommended to use a professional fur cleaner from a pet store.

2. Drinking water and food

Fresh, clean drinking water should always be available in the rabbit cage. The cage and water trough should be cleaned frequently, because their thick fur leaves behind a lot of dirt, and droppings also tend to remain in the cage. So the drinking water should be replaced in time and the cage kept clean. In daily care, you can feed them fresh vegetables and fruits such as cabbage leaves, carrots, and apples, and you can also give them some small pieces of bread.

3. Building a bond

Rabbits all have a keen sense of smell, so you should interact and communicate with it often to build a bond. This way it can quickly get used to its owner's scent. Moreover, the Angora rabbit is a relatively intelligent breed among rabbits, and with patient training, they can also complete many simple little commands just like dogs.

The Angora rabbit first appeared in the United States in the early 20th century, and China introduced it in 1926.
