How to raise donkeys? Methods and technical key points for raising donkeys
When mentioning donkeys, presumably everyone is familiar with them. They can not only be eaten but also have relatively high medicinal value. At present, many farmers raise them, so how to raise donkeys?
1. Site selection and building construction
Select a piece of land with good surrounding environment, unpolluted water quality, and convenient transportation, and build a pen of appropriate size according to the number to be raised. The donkey stalls are best divided into compartments with railings, and a water trough and feed trough should be made facing the same direction. Generally, the feed trough is best about 30-50 cm above the ground, and the water trough should be placed inside for convenient drinking. Reserve 2-3 sq m of activity space for each donkey.
2. Seed selection
Go to a specialty market to pick out some robust donkey seedlings, then bring them back to the pen.
3. Donkey management techniques
(1) Management of young donkeys: In the early stage, vaccinations should be given well to enhance resistance. At the same time, when feeding, try to feed some wheat flour, corn flour, etc., and after 2 weeks, begin to feed some roughage. The feeding amount should be appropriately increased or decreased according to the season. Generally, feeding once each in the morning, noon, and evening is best. If it is winter, they can be fed four times a day.
(2) Management during the fattening period: After the donkey has grown for about one month, feed more forage grass and always keep the pen clean to enhance resistance and increase lean meat rate. When feeding, the number of daily feedings, time, and amount should be determined according to the season. For example, in winter they can be fed 4 times in the morning, noon, evening, and night, and in spring and summer it can be increased to 5 times. In autumn, when the weather is cool, it can be reduced to 3 times per day. In addition, the feeding time and amount should be relatively fixed. Overeating or insufficient feed intake will affect the feeding effect and cause digestive tract diseases.
(3) Raise separately: During the breeding period, male and female donkeys are best raised separately, because male donkeys are relatively strong and can easily injure female donkeys, especially during estrus, so separate raising is recommended.
(4) Drinking water requirements: Supply sufficient water to meat donkeys according to the type of feed, climate, etc. Generally, they should drink water 4 times a day, and this can be increased to 5 times when the weather is hot. Do not let them drink too quickly; drinking too quickly can easily cause choking of the lungs and abdominal pain.
(5) Deworming at the right time: Donkeys have the habit of rubbing against railings to deworm themselves, so when donkeys are found frequently rubbing against railings, pay attention to deworming. The railings should also be checked regularly, and repaired in time if damaged by rubbing, to avoid accidental injury.
