How to keep Ranchu goldfish? Raising methods and precautions
Ranchu is a variety developed after Chinese goldfish were introduced to Japan. Ranchu is mainly divided by color and characteristics into Red Ranchu, Red and White Ranchu, White Ranchu, Red-capped Ranchu (Tancho Ranchu) and Rabbit-eye Ranchu, etc. So how do you keep Ranchu?
1. Water quality
The quality of the water is one of the necessary conditions for keeping Ranchu well, and the quality of the water is affected by 2 factors: food residue and waste in the fish tank, so we must change the water on time, but we must not change it too diligently.
2. Container
The most commonly used container for keeping Ranchu goldfish should be a glass fish tank. The biggest features of a glass fish tank are its high performance, good viewing quality and good appearance. Paired with a high-quality circulating filtration system, it is simply perfect, and it is a good choice for keeping fish at home.
3. Feeding
Feeding Ranchu goldfish too much can easily lead to the death of the Ranchu. The reason is not that the Ranchu cannot digest well after eating too much, but that when a large amount of food is put in, a large amount of leftover food in the water body reduces the dissolved oxygen content in the water. At the same time, when the Ranchu is full, it needs more oxygen to help digestion, and when the dissolved oxygen in the water is low, it will cause the Ranchu goldfish to die from lack of oxygen. This phenomenon is usually treated as the “overeating death phenomenon”. Therefore, the feeding amount for Ranchu must be controlled, and it is enough to ensure that the Ranchu goldfish finish eating in a short time.
Ranchu has a short body shape without a dorsal fin. Its smooth, rounded back curve is the focus of appreciation. What it emphasizes is overall harmony and balance, and body shape, tail shape, swimming posture and overall proportions are also key points of appreciation.
