How to Care for a Kalanchoe (Mother of Thousands) Succulent? Detailed Care Guide
Kalanchoe is a very fleshy succulent plant, very cute, so how do you care for a Kalanchoe succulent?
1. How to care for a Kalanchoe succulent?
1. Soil requirements
Kalanchoe only needs breathable soil, so Kalanchoe soil is generally made by mixing cinder with a small amount of peat, and additionally laying granular river sand on the soil surface, to ensure the growing medium is mainly water-permeable and breathable.
2. Light requirements
Kalanchoe succulents are not very tolerant of strong sun, so during the high temperatures of summer, you must provide shade to avoid exposure to strong light.
3. Watering requirements
During the peeling period, Kalanchoe can be given a moderate amount of water, while for regular watering, simply water thoroughly once the soil has dried out. If the Kalanchoe plant is plump, then there is no need to water; if you notice the Kalanchoe leaves look a little wilted, it is recommended that growers water immediately.
4. Summer care
Throughout the summer, Kalanchoe succulents need shade, and should be placed in a bright, well-ventilated environment with some indirect light; at the same time, in summer give only a small amount of water to maintain a certain level of nutrients.
5. Winter care
In winter, avoid frost damage from temperatures that are too low; generally, when the potting soil is dry, minus 3 degrees is no problem at all for Kalanchoe, so winter temperatures should be kept under control, otherwise the Kalanchoe succulent will suffer frost damage.
