A detailed explanation of the patterns of African swine fever onset, explained in one article

African swine fever is a fatal pain point for many farmers, with no way to save the animals, and by the time it is discovered it is already too late. So do you know the patterns of African swine fever onset? Let's take a look together!

1. Patterns of African swine fever onset

According to relevant data, African swine fever mainly occurs first in older pigs (sows that have farrowed, market hogs), occurs later in nursery pigs, and rarely occurs in suckling piglets. Different situations must also be analyzed separately, and it is very important for everyone to do a good job of daily cleaning work.

2. Prevention and control of African swine fever

First, strictly control the entry of people, vehicles and susceptible animals into the farm; people, vehicles and goods entering and leaving the farm and its production areas must strictly implement measures such as disinfection.

Second, raise pigs in confinement as much as possible, adopt isolation and protection measures, and try to avoid contact with wild boars and Ornithodoros soft ticks.

Third, it is strictly forbidden to use swill or food waste to feed pigs.

Fourth, actively cooperate with local animal disease prevention and control agencies in carrying out disease monitoring and investigation; especially in cases such as failure of swine fever vaccine immunization or death from unknown causes, report promptly to the local veterinary department.
