1. Is a peacock a mammal?
A peacock is not a mammal; it is a bird, belonging to the family Phasianidae and the genus Pavo or Afropavo. Peacocks generally have a body length of more than 2 m, and the tail fan is relatively long, accounting for about 1.5 m.
Peacocks mainly live in tropical and subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forests, mixed forests and other areas below 2000 m, and generally forage and move about in the early morning and near dusk.
The peacock is also an omnivorous animal, generally feeding mainly on plants, but it will also eat animals such as termites, locusts, crickets, lizards and frogs. If peacocks are farmed, they are generally fed mainly on corn, wheat, bran, sorghum, soybeans and soybean cake and planted green grass, plus fish meal, bone meal, salt, grit, multivitamins, trace elements, amino acids, additives and so on.

It inhabits the depths of tropical rainforest below 1200 m altitude in Congo, Africa. The male Congo peafowl is purple-blue all over with bright red bare skin on the neck, while the female Congo peafowl is reddish-brown with emerald-colored feathers on the back.
