1. Feeding

Red-eared sliders can be said to eat almost anything. Their food includes animal feeds such as various freshwater and saltwater fish, aquatic insects and eggs, as well as plant feeds such as corn, wheat, soybeans, and fruits and vegetables. You can also feed them additives such as cod liver oil, malt and dry yeast.

2. Temperature

In the south, the water temperature differs little across the four seasons, and they are generally very lively in spring, summer and autumn, hibernating in winter, so the effect of temperature is relatively small. In the north, however, the water temperature needs to be adjusted appropriately, and a heating rod can be used to warm it as needed.

3. Disease

Red-eared sliders may encounter diseases during their growth, so owners should understand common diseases and pay attention to prevention. If symptoms of disease appear, appropriate treatment should be given promptly.

4. Light

The turtle needs opportunities for direct sunlight exposure. The enclosure can be placed on a balcony or windowsill. If that is not possible, the young turtle must be given ultraviolet exposure once or twice a week, about three to five minutes each time. Do not expose it to harsh sun

5. Wiping

Turtles need to bask in the sun daily to meet their calcium conversion needs, and this paint will affect their absorption and conversion of sunlight, seriously affecting the turtle's health and leading to disease. We can use nail polish remover to remove the painted colors from their shells.
