I want to raise geese. How should I raise them well?
When it comes to geese, everyone is surely familiar with them, especially in childhood, when you were often chased and run after by them, and even now you are afraid when you see them. Actually, geese are very good, and they also have a certain farming prospect. So how do you raise geese?
1. Choose good goslings
Choose goslings from a hatchery with advanced kang-hatching technology that carries out production according to epidemic prevention and disinfection procedures, with obvious breed characteristics and good growth and development, for fattening and raising.
2. Brood the young well
Brooding is the key stage in raising commercial geese well. During the brooding period, goslings have poor body temperature regulation, and their digestive function and stress resistance are all very weak, so you must strictly follow the relevant techniques and properly master the key work of the brooding stage, such as temperature, humidity, density, grouping, first drinking water, and first feeding, to ensure the survival rate of the goslings.
3. Divide into good batches
Each mu of forage grass can raise 100 to 120 commercial geese, but they must not be raised all at once, otherwise there will be the contradiction that in the early stage the forage grass is too small and the geese do not have enough to eat, and in the later stage the grass is old and the geese cannot eat it. A reasonable batch ratio is winter geese accounting for 30%, early spring geese accounting for 40%, and late spring geese accounting for 30%.
4. Supplement good feed
Raising geese on forage grass also requires supplementing concentrated feed. Generally, each commercial goose needs about 4 to 5 kg of concentrated feed. The concentrated feed should be comprehensive in nutrition and should be fed in stages; pelleted feed is best.
5. Do good epidemic prevention
Geese should be vaccinated according to procedures. For goslings hatched from breeding eggs where the breeding geese were not injected for gosling plague or where the breeding geese's vaccination time was relatively long ago, the gosling plague vaccine should be injected within 24 hours of hatching, and at 10 to 14 days of age, vaccines for paramyxovirus and avian influenza should be injected. During the brooding period, drinking water with drugs to prevent digestive tract and respiratory tract diseases should be given. For late spring geese, broad-spectrum deworming drugs should be used at 25 days of age and 45 days of age respectively. At the same time, great attention must be paid to disinfection work, and the farm should establish an effective disinfection system.
