How Do Shrimp Reproduce After Carrying Eggs? Mastering These Methods Is Key
Berried shrimp are unhatched individuals after the parent stock has mated and laid eggs, which become shrimp fry after hatching. So how do shrimp reproduce after carrying eggs?
1. How do shrimp reproduce after carrying eggs?
After the shrimp carry eggs, drain the pond water to a depth of 10cm and divide the pond and the parent shrimp into two equal halves. Then scoop up the berried shrimp with a net and put them into a bucket with 1/3 water, place the non-berried shrimp and male shrimp into another bucket, and after all the berried shrimp have been caught, return the others to the original pond for rearing. When catching berried shrimp, your hands and feet must be gentle, so that the egg masses do not easily fall off.
2. How do you raise berried shrimp?
1. Water quality
Berried shrimp are stocked at high density, so water quality is extremely prone to deterioration. Therefore, promptly removing leftover bait and dead shrimp and increasing water changes or installing a recirculating water treatment device are the fundamental ways to solve water quality problems.
2. Light
Crayfish are animals that rest by day and come out at night, and they lay eggs in burrows. Therefore, artificial spawning facilities need shade equipment, and a dim environment can promote smooth spawning in crayfish.
3. Water level and water flow
The water depth in cement ponds is generally controlled at 30-50 cm. Do not change the water frequently, as this will disturb crayfish spawning. To ensure good water quality, you can change the water once every 2-3 days, changing 20% each time; when changing water, control the water flow and try not to cause great stimulation to the parent shrimp.
4. Feeding
After stocking, feed once a day around evening at 0.5%-1% of the stocked shrimp body weight. The best feed is minced snail, mussel meat and small trash fish.
