Black bear is a type of bear, also known as the black blind one and moon bear. It has a bulky body and can climb trees, and it is found in the northeastern and northwestern regions of China. So how does it overwinter?

1. How does the black bear overwinter?

The black bear overwinters by hibernating. Black bears that need to hibernate begin to eat ravenously everywhere at the end of summer in order to store enough fat. Once they enter the hibernation period, their metabolism, heartbeat, and body temperature drop, and they no longer defecate; instead, they convert their waste into protein. In this way, they can get through the cold winter by hibernating.
