Grass carp is an important freshwater farmed fish in China, generally living in the middle and lower layers of rivers and lakes, and it is one of the targets that anglers like to fish for. So, what is the grass carp fishing recipe?

1. Grass carp fishing recipe

The grass carp fishing recipe is 0.5 kg of large yellow corn kernels, 50 g of rapeseed cake, 20-30 g of white vinegar, 50-100 g of high-proof baijiu, and a small packet of sweet rice wine starter powder. Grass carp is a herbivorous fish; at the fry stage it feeds on zooplankton, at the juvenile stage it also eats insects, earthworms, algae and duckweed, and as an adult it feeds entirely on aquatic higher plants, especially grasses. A bait with a slight wine scent and grain aroma is best.

2. How is the bait recipe made?

Choose 0.5 kg of large yellow corn kernels that have not gone moldy, soak them in clean water for about 12 hours, then cook over low heat. After cooking for one hour, add 50 g of rapeseed cake that has not gone moldy and has a strong aroma. After cooking for half an hour, add 20-30 g of white vinegar. Cook until there is no white hard core left in the middle of the corn kernels, then while hot add 50-100 g of high-proof baijiu and let it cool.

After cooling, take one fifth and drain it, mix in a small packet of sweet rice wine starter powder, then put it in a glass bottle to ferment for one night or one day, and use it as hook bait. To the remaining four fifths, add rapeseed cake powder, rice bran (stir-fried until fragrant), and an appropriate amount of baijiu, and use it as chum.
