Construction Methods and Technical Key Points for Greenhouse-Style Pig Houses
Pork is getting more and more expensive now, and many people want to raise pigs, but to raise pigs well, you need to build good pig houses and do a good job in all aspects of management work. So what are the construction methods for greenhouse-style pig houses?
1. Site selection for greenhouse construction
We should all be fairly clear that the sturdiness of a greenhouse is not as strong as that of a wall. Therefore, the site chosen for greenhouse construction is generally in a leeward spot or a wind-sheltered area. Next, the construction site should have relatively high terrain, a low groundwater table, be relatively dry, have convenient transportation, and have an abundant and pollution-free water source. The construction site should look relatively flat overall, and no slope should be present.
2. Construction of the pig house and pig pens
A pig house generally needs to be four to six meters wide and about eight to twenty meters long. It is best for the pig house to run east-west, as this gives relatively good lighting. At the same time, just like building a house, it is best to face south with its back to the north, so it is warm in winter and cool in summer. Then roller blinds need to be installed around it for ventilation at any time. The floor needs to be finished with cement to provide a comfortable environment for the pigs. A pig pen is generally about 25 sq m. Each pig pen needs to be built with bricks or separated by iron railings, which makes management convenient and also gives good ventilation. Pig pens generally have a certain slope, and a manure and urine ditch is built, which makes it convenient to discharge manure and urine and also convenient to clean the pig pens.
3. Construction of feed troughs and water troughs
Feed troughs and water troughs must be separated and must not be mixed. The size of the feed troughs needs to be designed according to the amount being raised. Generally, each feed trough is about two meters long and ten cm deep, and about every thirty cm, a steel bar needs to be used to separate it, so that pigs do not enter the feed trough and affect the eating of other pigs. Feed troughs and water troughs are built on the two sides of the pig pen respectively, which makes management convenient.
4. Methods of building the greenhouse
When building the greenhouse, a double-layer construction method needs to be used, so that warmth retention in winter is relatively good, and at the same time shading in summer is also much better. When building the greenhouse, although vents are set up on all four sides, in order to maintain air circulation, at least two vents also need to be set up at the top, but they should not directly face into the pig pens.
5. Construction of manure pits
The construction of manure pits is very necessary. The country now attaches great importance to environmental protection and is continuously increasing the intensity of suppression against various projects and works that pollute the environment. The construction of pig farms generally includes building special manure pits to handle manure, food residues, and so on in the pig farm. At present, the most common treatment method is to build biogas digesters. This method has low construction cost and can also turn waste into useful resources.
