II. What benefits does loach have
1. Lowering lipids and blood pressure: Loach is a high-protein, low-fat food, and its body also contains an unsaturated fatty acid similar to eicosapentaenoic acid, which helps the human body resist vascular aging, can lower lipids and blood pressure, and is beneficial to the elderly and patients with cardiovascular disease.
2. Antiviral: Loach also contains abundant nucleosides. Nucleosides are the main components of various vaccines and can improve the body's antiviral ability.

III. Off-season farming methods for loach
1. Building ponds: The pond area for farming is preferably 100-150 sq m, and the pond depth is preferably 1.2-1.5 m. Clean and disinfect the loach pond 10-15 days before stocking, and place 20 cm of fertile mud in advance. After 7 days, add water to 20-30 cm, place 0.3-0.5 kg of livestock and poultry manure per sq m, and then add water to 40-50 cm. After several days, when the water color is yellow-green and the transparency is 15-25 cm, stock the loach.
2. Building sheds: Build according to the method for vegetable greenhouses, with either a single-layer or double-layer structure. Bamboo poles or steel bar structures can be used as materials. In addition, straw mats or curtains need to be kept ready to cover the plastic greenhouse in winter for insulation.
3. Stocking: Before stocking loach, to prevent saprolegniasis and eliminate parasites on the body surface of the loach, usually soak them in 3%-5% salt water for 3-5 minutes. The density is about 25 kg per cubic meter of water. As the stocking amount increases and the fish gain weight, the pond water can be deepened to 0.8-1 m. When the loach enters the pond, too large a temperature difference must also be prevented, so as not to cause the loach to catch a cold and die.
4. Feed: Loach is omnivorous. When feeding, pay attention to a reasonable combination of animal and plant bait. When the water temperature is higher than 30°C or lower than 10°C, feeding may be omitted. During rearing, splash manure into the loach pond once every 4-5 days, 50-100 g per sq m, and keep water transparency at 15-25 cm. Replace the water in the loach pond 2 times a week, 30 cm each time. The water-drying pond should often be filled with tap water so that the water source is sufficient.
