How Much Can You Earn Raising 100 Pigs a Year in Rural Areas? Plus Pig Farming Management Techniques
Recently, pork prices have been rising continuously, and pig farmers have also made a lot of money. In the coming year, they even want to expand their farming scale. So how much can you earn raising 100 pigs a year in rural areas?
1. How much can you earn raising 100 pigs?
1. Pig farming costs: If calculated at 5 jin of feed per head per day, the feed used for sows is relatively cheap, about 0.9 yuan per jin. One year is 365 days * 5 * 0.9 yuan/jin = 1642 yuan. Adding epidemic prevention costs of 100 yuan or other costs, at most 2000 yuan. A sow can farrow 2 litters per year, with an average of 10 piglets per litter. If calculated at 8 piglets, the cost of one piglet is 2000 yuan (annual cost of the sow) / 16 = 125 yuan per head.
2. Feed costs: Before reaching 30 jin, pigs generally eat suckling pig feed (pelleted feed). Feed is calculated at 2 yuan per jin. Before 30 jin, they are basically still in the suckling period. It is almost one jin of feed for one jin of growth. Calculated at 1.2 jin of feed per jin of growth, the cost for a piglet to grow to 30 jin is 30 * 1.2 * 2 = 72 yuan, calculated as 80 yuan. From 30 jin to 200 jin, fattening pigs eat compound feed. Theoretically, the average feed-to-meat ratio is 3:1, which means growing from 30 jin to 200 jin (200-30=170) uses 510 jin of feed. Even at a poorer pig farm, 600 jin of feed is enough to grow to 200 jin. Feed is calculated at 1.1 yuan per jin (feed concentrate 2.5 yuan * 20% = 0.6 + corn 0.7 yuan/jin * 80% = 0.56 yuan, actually only 1.06 yuan). Eating 600 jin of feed costs 660 yuan. In other words, raising one pig from birth to 200 jin uses 660 + 80 = 740 yuan.
3. Profit analysis: 125 yuan (cost of the sow giving birth to the piglet) + 740 yuan = 865 yuan. If calculated according to the market price of 7 yuan per jin, the profit is 7 yuan * 200 jin = 1400 yuan. Subtracting the cost of 865 yuan, you can obtain a profit of 535 yuan. Then 100 pigs can earn 53500 yuan.
2. How much can you earn fattening 100 piglets?
1. Piglet cost: Calculated at 50 jin for purchased piglets (the price of such piglets is similar to that of larger pigs, calculated at 8 yuan per jin), 50 * 8 yuan = 400 yuan cost. In fact, piglets of around 10 jin are the most expensive, possibly around 12 yuan, but that is only 120 yuan per head, and the cost of feeding them to 50 jin is even lower.
2. Feed costs: From 50 to 200 jin at slaughter, at most 550 jin of feed is used, which is 550 * 1.1 yuan/jin = 605 yuan cost.
3. Profit analysis: The total cost is 350 + 605 yuan = 955 yuan. The profit is 1400 yuan from selling a 200 jin finished pig - 955 yuan = 445 yuan. Raising 100 pigs can earn 44500 yuan. Although the profit is a bit less than self-breeding and self-raising, raising them this way can definitely be sent to slaughter in 4 months. Because the purchased piglets are 50 jin, one more batch of pigs can be raised each year.
3. Pig Farming Techniques
1. Pig breed selection
Pig breed selection is the first step in pig farming, and this step is crucial. During the selection process, you must know how to choose improved breeds of pigs. Improved breeds are varieties with more lean meat and fast growth. They are not difficult to raise and are not picky eaters, belonging to the category of crossbred pigs.
2. Site selection
We all know that pig farming sites are no longer the kind where land was casually enclosed as before. When choosing a pig farming site, the first condition is the terrain issue. You can choose a site with stable terrain that can receive sunlight and has good drainage. As piglets grow day by day, the pigpen is also crucial for them. Remember not to make it too small, to avoid them squeezing each other later.
3. Division of areas
The division of areas is mainly for preventing possible future diseases. After doing prevention work well, the owner will also feel more at ease. The farm is best divided into production areas and non-production areas. This helps avoid the invasion of bacteria and viruses and cuts off many sources of pathogen transmission. Every worker must undergo comprehensive disinfection when entering the pigpen and wear specially made protective clothing to reduce contact with sources of disease.
4. Feed and feeding
In the past, everyone liked to accumulate leftover food from home and feed it to pigs. In fact, this is not advisable. The best feed is corn, sorghum, and coarse grains. Do not feed them one kind of food for a long time. If you support them with tofu dregs or wheat bran for a long time, it will lead to nutritional deficiencies and is not conducive to growth.
