Among other goat breeds, the black goat stands out as a leader, with not only less gamy odor but also higher nutritional value, so it has always been a high-value economic type among farmed livestock. Do you know how much black goat costs per jin in 2019-2020? What are its farming prospects? What are the farming techniques?

II. Farming prospects of black goat

The black goat has a large build, a gentle temperament, a high birth weight, fast growth, and tolerance to heat and humidity, and has advantages such as strong disease resistance, a high dressing percentage, and good meat quality. A newborn black goat lamb can weigh about 5 kg at birth, and an adult goat can reach about 100 kg at its heaviest, with a dressing percentage as high as 58.9% to 60%, making it a purely green, top-quality meat food. Moreover, the black goat's hide has strong gloss and is a high-quality hide. With the improvement of people's living standards and changes in dietary structure in recent years, mutton, as a safe, high-protein, low-fat, low-cholesterol green and safe food, has seen increasing market demand, especially for black goat. These advantages have made the black goat one of the most sought-after green meat foods, generally favored by domestic and international markets, with extremely high market demand. With its advantages of strong reproductive capacity, high economic value, and strong market demand, as well as its characteristics as a pollution-free herbivorous meat animal, the black goat has become one of the farming breeds with very broad development prospects.

III. Farming techniques for black goat

1. Crossbreeding improvement. It is recommended to crossbreed Boer goats with black goats to produce a first hybrid generation, and then crossbreed the female parent of the first hybrid generation with Boer goats. The goat breed produced by this method can reach a weight of 25-30 kg at 4 months of age, comparable to the weight of local adult goats; under grazing conditions, the meat yield of the crossbred goat at 10 months of age is 12.5 kg, more than 2 times higher than that of local breed goats of the same age.

2. Pay attention to deworming. Deworm the flock once every 2 months, alternately using albendazole and avermectin orally to kill parasites, and amitraz can be sprayed externally to kill parasites. At the same time, clean the goat pen every day, and regularly use bleaching powder and Baidusha to sanitize the pens and facilities, thereby preventing the occurrence of parasites and other diseases.

3. Off-season mating. Ewes giving birth to winter lambs are mated from July to September each year, give birth from December to February of the following year, and wean from April to June. When the lambs are weaned, it is exactly the regrowth period of pasture grass, and grazing can achieve good daily weight gain. From August to October, the flock can reach a weight of 40 kg and be ready for market. Ewes giving birth to spring lambs are mated from October to November each year, give birth from March to May of the following year, and wean from July to August. After weaning, grazing plus supplementary feeding enables the lambs to reach 40 kg and go to market from November to December. Only in this way can the economic benefits of the flock be maximized.

4. Careful management of ewes. After a ewe becomes pregnant, feed more tender pasture grass, carrots, and other green juicy feed, and also pay attention to the addition of trace elements and vitamins and the supplementation of salt. Appropriately increase the amount of bran in the concentrate to help promote bowel movements. From 2 to 3 days before giving birth, appropriately feed protein-rich lactation-promoting feed, such as peanuts and soy milk, as well as mildly laxative feed, to provide nutrition for the ewe's milk production after giving birth. After lambing, while supplementing concentrate, increase the feeding amount of root tubers, juicy feed, vitamins, and calcium and phosphorus to increase milk density and promote lamb development. If the ewe has scarce milk, take 250 grams of kelp and 100 grams of lard, cook them into soup, and let the ewe drink it all at once; after 6 hours, the milk output will increase significantly. In addition, it can also be fed once every 3 days for 3 consecutive times, along with sufficient green juicy feed, to achieve the lactation-promoting effect.

5. Strengthen supplementary feeding. Every day after the sheep return from grazing, at around 8 p.m., supplement with a feed mix of 60% grass powder and corn flour, 28% soybean cake, 10% wheat bran, 2% salt, and multivitamins and trace elements. During the dry grass period, add 8% peanut bran and vitamins and minerals to the concentrate to supplement nutrition. At 10 days of age, train the lambs to eat tender grass; at 15 days of age, supplement with mixed concentrate such as roasted corn flour, with a daily feeding amount of 50-200 grams per goat, ensuring that the lambs all survive, are strong, and grow quickly after weaning at 3 months of age.

6. Magnetized water and feed. Every day, use 2 pieces of Qiangde nanometer 863 to treat water, grass, and concentrate, which can improve feed utilization and strengthen the goat's physique.

Because of its excellent meat quality, the black goat is quite popular among consumers and is known as a “meat delicacy” on earth, and both its farming prospects and economic benefits are considerable.
