Northern Schisandra is superior to southern Schisandra. It is a traditional Chinese medicinal herb, and its production areas are distributed very widely in our country. Below, let us take a look at what the production area distributions of Schisandra chinensis are!

Production area distribution of Schisandra chinensis

The production areas of Schisandra chinensis are distributed in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Shanxi, Ningxia, Gansu, and Shandong. It grows in valleys, beside streams, and on mountain slopes at an altitude of 1200-1700 m. It is also distributed in Korea and Japan.

Production area environment of Schisandra chinensis

Schisandra chinensis prefers slightly acidic humus soil. Wild plants grow in mixed forests in mountainous areas, at forest edges, or in thickets in mountain gullies, twining around other trees to grow. Its drought tolerance is relatively poor. Under natural conditions, it develops best on fertile, well-drained soil with balanced and suitable moisture.

Variety distribution of Schisandra chinensis

It is concentrated south of the Yellow River basin and is produced in Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan, and Yunnan, China.

2. Northern Schisandra: Northern Schisandra is naturally distributed in mountainous areas such as the Xiaoxing'anling, Wandashan, Zhangguangcailing, and Laoyeling in Heilongjiang Province. It is mainly produced in Northeast China, Hebei, and other places.
