Reishi mushroom has the effects of tonifying qi and calming the mind, and prolonging life. With the improvement of living standards, the demand for reishi mushroom is growing larger and larger, while wild reishi mushroom is extremely scarce, so artificial cultivation of reishi mushroom has also become a money-making project. So how is reishi mushroom cultivated artificially? The main cultivation methods for reishi mushroom are bottle cultivation, bag cultivation, and log cultivation. Below, Qinnong Web explains these three reishi mushroom cultivation methods in detail for everyone.

1. Bottle cultivation

Choose a wide-mouth bottle or canning jar of moderate size, wash the bottle clean and let it dry, then put the prepared culture medium into the bottle, press the culture medium with your hand until it is moderately firm, stopping 1 cm from the bottle mouth, and level it off. Use a tool to make a hole in the center position down to the bottom of the bottle, being careful not to break the bottle bottom. Wash the bottle mouth clean, then wrap it well with kraft paper.

Then place it in a normal-pressure 100°C environment for sterilization, lasting 8-12 hours, then sterilize under high pressure at 121°C, lasting 1-2 hours. After cooling, it can be inoculated. After inoculation, place it in a culture room with a temperature of about 25°C and humidity controlled below 70%. The culture room should maintain a dark environment, which is beneficial to mycelial growth, but when the mycelium grows to half the height of the bottle, the sealing paper can be removed. At this time, it can be moved to the fruiting body production room, with the temperature controlled between 25-28°C, and then reishi mushroom can slowly grow out.

2. Bag cultivation

The steps of bag cultivation and bottle cultivation are similar. The only difference is that the culture medium uses polyethylene plastic bags, filled to about 10 cm from the bag mouth, then gather the bag mouth, put on a plastic collar, and add a cotton plug. After sterilization, inoculate in a sterile environment, but when the mycelium grows to half the height of the bag, the plastic collar and cotton plug can be removed to expose the surface of the medium and let it slowly produce mushrooms.

3. Log cultivation

Log cultivation imitates the growth mode of wild reishi mushroom. Choose large broadleaf tree species with a tree age of 7-10 years, saw their trunks into sections, then soak them in water for 12 hours, which increases the trunk moisture and allows fungal growth. Drill holes in the trunk with a diameter of about 1 cm, then inoculate with an inoculation gun, seal with tree bark, and after inoculation pile them together, keeping the temperature between 20-28°C. During high temperatures, pay attention to ventilation. After about one month, the fungus can emerge. After the fungus emerges, bury it in soil with the buried part accounting for two-thirds or three-quarters of the total length, keep the soil moist, and after about two months, reishi mushroom can grow out.

The above is the introduction to the artificial cultivation methods of reishi mushroom brought to you by Qinnong Web. At present, artificial cultivation of reishi mushroom mainly uses the above three methods. We hope it can be helpful to you.
